22% of US children hospitalized for COVID-19 have neurologic involvement

New data from the Overcoming COVID-19 public health surveillance registry, has highlighted that neurological involvement among hospitalized children with COVID-19 is transient, with worse outcomes among those having underlying neurological disorders.

The case series study, funded by the US Centers for Disease Control in collaboration with the Pediatric Intensive Care Influenza and Emerging Pathogens (PICFLU-EP) research network, included 1,695 patients from 61 US sites and 31 states, to investigate the range and severity of neurologic involvement in COVID-19 pediatric patients.
