Does migraine with brainstem aura exist? Experts debate at the EAN 2021 conference

Experts at the EAN 2021 virtual conference held a formal debate on whether migraine with brainstem aura (MBA) does or does not exist.

Professor Jes Olseon of the University of Copenhagen in Copenhagen, Denmark, argued that migraine with brainstem aura does exist. First described in 1961 (then called basilar artery migraine), MBA is now included as a separate entity in the ICHD-3 diagnostic classification system.
