Serum NfL is useful biomarker in pregnancy, say researchers

New data presented in the late-breaking news session of MSVirtual2020 have highlighted the potential clinical value of monitoring serum levels of neurofilament light chain (sNfL) during pregnancy.

Dr Özgür Yaldizli from University Hospital Basel, Switzerland, noted that pregnancy in multiple sclerosis (MS) is typically associated with reduced disease activity (especially in the third trimester), followed by an increase in relapse frequency postpartum.
