Study of neuropsychiatric symptom management identifies sub-optimal use of treatments

Rates of pharmacological treatment of neuropsychiatric symptoms are low in patients with early Parkinson’s disease (PD), according to new findings presented at MDS 2020.

Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, USA, performed a longitudinal cohort study of 395 early untreated PD outpatients (mean age 62 years), and 185 healthy matched controls, enrolled in the Parkinson’s Progression Markers Initiative.
